SINGAPORE MATH
Singapore Math refers to the curriculum put together by the Ministry of Education, Singapore and used to teach students of Primary level ( ages 7 - 12 ). Studies done by TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and AIR (American Institutes for Research) has shown that students that were taught with this curriculum has proven the efficiency of it. It has scored top places in TIMSS studies over the last
12 years, and the research from AIR has resulted in four pilot programs using the Singapore Math curriculum in several counties in the United States.
U.S. Students Make Maths Gains
"Ten percent of American fourth-graders scored at or above advanced international math benchmarks, while the international median for hitting that mark was 5%. Only seven countries had more students hitting that mark. Singapore ranked first among those countries, with 41% of its students performing at or above advanced levels."
